24 Credit Hour Program If you have not completed high school or do not have U.S. high school equivalency, you may be eligible for SUNY Schenectady’s 24 Credit Hour Program.

Certain academic programs may have additional admission requirements beyond a final high school transcript or GED/HSE scores:
Applicants may select their program of interest on the application; however, students who select Performing Arts: Music or Music Audio Technology will be placed in the Music Certificate program until they have successfully completed an audition with the School of Music.
Our institution does not offer a standalone nursing program. We partner with the Belanger School of Nursing at Ellis Hospital. Students who are interested in taking prerequisites for nursing school should select the Health Studies Certificate as their program of interest on the application.
Applicants will be asked to provide proof of a First or Second Class Medical Certificate and proof of U.S. citizenship (or documentation showing completion of U.S. Office of Homeland Security Administration background check requirements) before an offer of admission can be made. If a student applies to either of these programs and does not meet these requirements, they will be placed in the Aviation Science (Non-Pilot) program. Note that the entrance exam requirement for employment in FAA control towers is restricted to those 18 to 31 years of age.
SUNY Reconnect is SUNY’s free community college program for New York adults ages 25 to 55 who do not already have a college degree.
